No flash, no direct sunlight.
Then you need to use the macro feature on your camera. Turn that on. Looks like a little tulip/flower.
Then what works for me is by a window, where there is indirect light. Also what works for me is dark background with a light color card and lighter background with a darker colored card base.

I would zoom in more on your photos, then crop them before posting. I use the Microsoft picture viewer/editor that came on my computer - I haven't purchased any fancy software. Good luck to you!
All thats been suggested really, the owl card is great just needs cropping in your edit button....
