Another great gift from my secret pal

Look what came in the mail today. I love it all!!!! I'm super excited about my lattebella. I've wanted her since she came out:) I can't wait to use it all. I've been making a flip book for my son's teacher for mothers day. It's the many faces of mom book. I'm using my bellas of course so she'll be a great addition.
The stamp set from My favorite things is very cool. I can't wait to play with it all.

Oh, she also ordered a picture for me from the tigers website, from the game I went to with my husband. Isn't that just the sweetest thing!

my husbands birthday

Last night was Ricky's 30th birthday. He doesn't like being the center of attention, meaning he really didn't want a party. So I got the 2 of us tickets to last nights Tigers game. We went to dinner downtown at Pizza Papalis, blew $6.00 on nickel slots at the casino, then went to the game. It was a ton of fun. I had restraint and only told 2 people it was his birthday. His face would get a little red and remind me how much he hates that. The picture of the stadium is before the game. It was a full house. I got lucky and got the last 2 seats that were side by side in the whole park. They were good seats to, on the main deck right down the 3rd baseline.
You can go to www.tigers.com/fanfoto and see us at the game. We're gallery 30. I was going to order a picture but it's $10.00 for 1 5x7.

my new scrap cases

I sold some of my ctmh stuff to buy these 2 cases. I love them!( I would love them even more if they were pink, but that wasn't a color option) They are by ArtBin. The first case comes apart for easy lifting and moving, it is on wheels. The bottom of the case is large enough to fit a sewing machine. The top case came with the clear plastic container. That's what i have my waiting to embellish pages in. ( which was about 30) There is 2 zipper pockets inside along with a spot for markers. Right now in the top case I have 2 layout ctmh books, the clear case and about 35 paper packs/ paper bundles. My cutter , embellishment case and some random things It still has plenty of room for more. LOVE IT!!! ( sorry the picture is sideways, that's my bad:)

In the bottom I have a few punches and the box that holds all my stamp sets. It also has some room left.

This is a mega tote, it came with all 6 clear cases. 3 are divided and 3 are just open space. It has 4 pockets on the side and 1 on the front and 1 in the back. It holds a TON of stuff. I'm so happy with them both.

6x6 page

Here's a 6x6 page I made for someone. My printer isn't working:( So I had to write out the verse. That wasn't my intention, but not much I could do about it. It needs to get in the mail today. I love the friendship blessing stamp set from CTMH, that's what i used to random stamp and for the flowers I cut out.

Card for the day

Here's a card I made today. I've had this stamp set for a while and haven't used it. It has 3 butterflies that go with the flowers. So I set out to make something today using the butterflies and did the flowers instead. It's a stampin up stamp set, ctmh cardstock and b&T paper.

my dirty little secret....

My dirty little secret is.... I hate to embellish. Not because I don't like how embellishing looks, just because It takes so much time to embellish. Just lazy I guess. So I had about 30 layouts that needed embellishing. I'm down to about 15 now. So here's what I've done all morning. I don't know why some of them downloaded sideways. It took so long for them to download, I'm just going to keep them that way.

Look what I made

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been missing the past week or so. I was in charge of this years book fair. That is now over. My last day was yesterday. I loved being in charge of something again. It gives me something to do. Because being a stay at home mom is endless days of sitting around . LOL!

Last night I made this cake for our schools Fun Fair Saturday. It will be raffled off for profit. In case your wondering, hopefully not, it's a gum ball machine. Not my own idea, I got the idea from one of my many cake decorating books. It was super easy to make, no cutting or shaping to do. Well have a great weekend. Hopefully I can get started on crafty things this coming week.

recipe of the week

I've decided to make 1 new recipe a week. I've tried this in the past and didn't stick to it. Hopefully doing this every week on my blog will motivate me. Please join me in making dinner more than a rotation of the same 4 dishes every week.

Recipe: Whole Oven-Barbecued Chicken
Prep: 10 min total: 1hr 55 min
I made this tonight, it was sooooo tender and juicy.
ingredients:
2 small lemons
1/2 cup barbecue sauce ( I used a honey smoked)
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 cloves garlic, peeled
1 whole chicken ( 3lb)
1 pkg. (6oz.) Stove Top Stuffing Mix for Chicken ( I used Stove top for chicken with less sodium)

Preheat oven to 350f. Grate 1/2 tsp.lemon peel; set aside. Cut lemons in half; squeeze juice into small bowl. Set aside lemon halves for later. Add BBQ sauce and seasoning to the lemon juice;mix well. Place Chicken in baking pan. Place 2 of the lemon halves and the garlic cloves inside the cavity of chicken. Rub skin of chicken with remaining 2 lemon halves and discard. Tie legs together with twine.

Bake 1 hour 45min or until chicken is cooked through (165f), brushing with the BBQ sauce mixture every 5 minutes during the last 20min. of baking time. Sprinkle with reserved lemon peel during the last 5 min.

Meanwhile, prepare stuffing mix as directed on package. Place in 1 1/2 qt. baking dish sprayed with cooking spray;cover. Place stuffing in oven during last 30min. of chicken baking time. ( I didn't do all of that, I just made the stuffing like it said on the box and then served it. I forgot to get it made and put into the oven in time. I'm sure it's good baked.)

Remove and discard lemon halves and garlic cloves from chicken cavity. Skim fat from drippings in chicken baking pan;serve drippings with chicken and stuffing.

Serves 6.
If your thinking this recipe looks familiar... that's because I got it from the Kraft food magazine. Spring 2008-
pg, 15.

you know your a mom when.....

You know your a mom when...... you find a random piece of toy or clothing lying around the house and you know exactly what it goes, or what it belongs to. Yep, that's the star wars sword that goes to Anikian from the 2nd movie, not the third. Or..yep that's the zip off leg that matches the pants whoever wore like 3 years ago, and those pants are in the garage 3rd bin on the left. LOL:) We're spring cleaning, so I've had those moments today.

If you have a dog.......

You can feel my pain:( I love the spring, hate the removal of the winter dog coat!!!! ARGGGG! I just finished brushing my dog, this is an old picture of her. She's 2 1/2 now. I brushed her for a good 30 minutes. Undercoat, top coat the whole thing. Yeah, she could use like another 30 minutes of brushing. I just couldn't stand the hair all over me, I tried to brush her outside, to windy. Nothing like dog hair blowing in your mouth to take you back inside to brush. I had to make her mover over twice to sweep the laundry room floor, then start again. When I was done I had to change my clothes! Anyway, just a little rant:)

CTMH card

Here's a card I made yesterday for a swap I hosted. The card look likes it's not straight, but that's just my picture taking skills.
