my new dress

Okay, so a few months ago I went shopping with my husband looking for a new dress. His brother is getting married this Friday. I wanted something I could wear to that. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm super practical. I wasn't going to buy a formal dress for this wedding. We have 3 kids, we don't go to fancy things. I didn't want a one time use dress. Alright, all that to say, I saw this one,tried it on just for fun. Then took back the other dress I got with my husband. So this my new formal dress. I LOVE IT. It's so much fun to wear. There's stuff underneath to make it poof a bit, tooling over satin, love, love, love it. But wait, It's not a one time dress, I'm going to wear it to my mandatory surprise 30Th birthday party that my husband is going to throw for me. I'll just get a cute sweater to wear with it. I'll post pictures with me and my super fine tux wearing hubby later this weekend:)

Bumps and Bruises

Bumps and Bruises strike again. I finally realized last night that the reason why my boys are having bad mishaps is because we have a major family event this week. It always seems to workout that way. So look who's got the worst bruise ever. Of course, it's E. Right in the middle of his face. Given to him by his little brother, who thought throwing a metal flashlight at him would make him get off the stairs. Go figure.

Bites, bites and more bites

My oldest isn't having a good couple of days. Wednesday he came running to the door saying he was bit by a snake on his arm. When i asked him to tell me what it looked like he said...." At first I thought it was a cat, but then it bit me and it was a snake." How do you mistake a cat and a snake?? No worries we believe it to be just Gardner snake. The same one that bit my middle son last year. It has a taste for kid blood now I guess. LOL! Then yesterday again here he comes this time screaming and crying. Yeah, he was stung by a bee on his finger. Thank God he wasn't allergic. That was the first ever bee sting. Anyway, upon further questioning, I discover that him and the neighbor boy where chasing bees and trying to kill them. My compassion level really dropped after that fact. I mean really, hello! They sting, it hurts, we say stay away from bees they can be really mean. So this all adds up in the male brain to.....Let's chase as many as we can with bats or bucket lids and try to kill them so they can't hurt us first. Seriously, the child is almost 9. We have giant bumble bee's, not the cute little one's buzzing around. Can't wait to see what today brings.

These cards are a combined challenge. The layout is from Taylored Expressions, it's cupcake challenge #25, minus the cupcake. Then the colors are from Marjorie's Color Challenge #24
ocean, citrus leaf, orange, breeze, and sunny yellow. I did the bella first. I loved the color/layout so much that I made another card using the Hannah stamps moose that my wonderful SP sent to me. However, it's missing the perfect embellishment. Not quite sure what to add.

The curse that we weren't told about

What is this curse you might ask. Well it's...... Men! I swear from the time of birth they drive you crazy! I love them to death. I mean I do live with 4 of them. My husband could count as 2, so really I live with 5! LOL:)

If I have to get up and go to where ever , the kids room, my husbands desk, the bathroom, to move 1 object to uncover something they are looking for, that I have given the exact location to, I will just die. Drop dead right where I stand from high blood pressure, irritation, my head exploding. You name it!
Now that the kids are home it's sooooo bad. Not just with the not really looking for something. How about this one, they ask a question, then don't listen to you answer. Love that one. Or how about the sudden loss of hearing. That's a great one also.
I took all 3 boys on a bike ride/ walk. The walk was me, my bike has a flat. We went up to the corner market for some veggies, then to the post office, then hair cuts. For some reason I believed my 8 and 7 year old when they told me they could ride a bike and hold a slushie at the same time. That was just dumb on my part. Ethan dropped his cup 4 times, yes 4 times just crossing the street. OMG! Mothers of boys you know, you feel my pain:)

Nature Album

I made this nature album for my boys. Each 2 page layout, except for page 1 because it's just one page, has a spot for a photo and then a spot to journal about whatever the picture is. We already have a picture of the frog that has made himself at home in my back porch area.
I used my super great bind it all machine. Don't look to close, you'll see my major hole punching mistake:) Yeah, I'm going to watch the video that actually tells me how to line up the holes. Should have done that 3 projects ago. Not to fast on learning my lesson I guess. I did make 8 pages, I'm only showing the front cover and a few inside pages. The stamp on the front is a High Hopes Stamp. He's Walkabout Wally. Love him. I'm also on the look out for ribbon that I love to put on the binding.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Happy 4Th of July everyone:) How did you spend your Independence Day?
My husband took the kids to see Wall-E, while I ran some errands. So we had a nice quite day.
My 3 year old did say something I thought was super cute. We had muffins with our dinner tonight, and Caden asked for butter. This is how he asked, " Can I have butter, not on the bottom but on the top of the bottom. Hee, Hee, I love 3 year old lingo.
